OVERVIEW
The B.Sc. in Radiology & Imaging Technology
is a specialized three-year undergraduate program designed to develop skilled professionals in the field of medical imaging. This course provides students with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on training in various diagnostic imaging techniques such as X-rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and Ultrasound. It is structured to ensure that students gain both theoretical understanding and practical expertise in operating radiological equipment, preparing them to assist radiologists in accurate diagnosis and patient care.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate and 55% in the combined science subjects. Reserved category candidates require a minimum of 45% marks. Additionally, students who have completed a Diploma in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology with at least 50% marks are also eligible for lateral entry.
The program aims to equip students with the technical proficiency and clinical knowledge required to work in hospitals, diagnostic labs, and imaging centers. It also serves as a strong foundation for those who wish to pursue higher studies or research in radiological sciences. Graduates can pursue roles such as Radiology Technician, CT/MRI Technologist, or Diagnostic Imaging Assistant, contributing significantly to modern medical diagnosis and treatment.

ELIGIBILITY
The eligibility criteria for the B.Sc. in Radiology & Imaging Technology program at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) are as follows:
10+2 (Medical Stream): Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 50% aggregate marks and 55% combined marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For candidates belonging to reserved categories, the requirement is 45% aggregate marks.
OR
Diploma Holders: Candidates who have passed a Diploma in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks are also eligible for admission.
This program spans 3 years (6 semesters) and is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in radiological imaging techniques.
